Nik Weis, the 3rd generation winemaker of Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Winery, will personally present 8 styles of his winery’s Riesling wines, from bone-dry, Kabinett, Spatlese and Auslese to Eiswein, Based on the wines’ various wine characters, NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong Executive Chef Sean Mell and Executive Sushi Chef Kazanari Araki have created an exclusive pairing menu to showcase the diversity of Nobu’s innovative cuisine.

About Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Winery

Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Winery is located in the prestigious Mosel region of Germany and is well-known for its Riesling wines.

Weingut St. Urbans-Hof was founded in 1947 by Niklaus Weis. His grandson, Nik Weis has reshaped St. Urban-hof into one of the “hottest” wineries in Mosel.

Weingut St. Urbans-Hof is known for its outstanding portfolio of vineyards stretching along the Mosel and Saar Rivers in the southwest of Germany, in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz. The estate’s holdings include many of the region’s crown jewels, world-class parcels with renowned names like “Piesporter Goldtröpfchen”, “Leiwener Laurentiuslay” and “Ockfener Bockstein.” The wines demonstrate the lightness, elegance, and spice for which the Mosel is known. The estate is a member of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates, abbreviated VDP).

Nik Weis’s wines have garnered fabulous scores for his Estate Riesling as well as for Ockfener Bockstein and Piesporter Goldtropchen Pradikats. The most recent change comes in the 2011 vintage. Using only the oldest estate vineyards, Nik has crafted an even better quality Estate Riesling in which all the grapes used are from two vineyard parcels that are 60 + years old. The result is a wine with much more complexity and character. Like all of the estate wines, only the natural ambient yeast is used for fermentation. The new “Estate Bottled from Old Vines” Riesling is of particular note.

About Masi Agricola Wines from Venice, Italy

The history of Masi is linked to one family and its vineyards in Verona, part of the Veneto. The name itself derives from the Vaio dei Masi, the small valley purchased at the end of the XVIII century by the Boscaini family, who are still the owners today.
Masi now has vineyards and historic estates in the best terroir sites of the Venetian regions.

Since 1973, Masi has collaborated with the Conti Serego Alighieri family, descendants of the famous poet Dante, on its estates in Valpolicella. More recently,  a collaboration has been launched with the Conti Bossi Fedrigotti family, skilled and passionate winemakers in Trentino. From 2004 to 2010, Marco Zauli was based in Shanghai where he worked as Brand Manager for  ASC Fine Wines, one of the most established Wine Importers in China, representing some of the most iconic Italian Brands. In mid-2010, he returned to Italy to join a winery in Umbria where he worked as Export Manager for the Extra-European markets, mainly focusing on Asia Pacific and North America. In 2014, Marco joined Masi as Export Manager, in charge of Asia Pacific.
